The Marietta Freedom Parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Roswell Street Baptist Church and head towards the Square. The end of the Parade marks the start of the Festival. Food concessions, arts and crafts and carnival will provide plenty to do for the whole family.
The historic community of Marietta, Georgia invites one and all to experience the 23rd Annual Art in the Park festival, September 5, 6 and 7. This fine-arts extravaganza held each Labor Day weekend is presented by the Marietta Business Association and has been named a Southeast Tourism Society Top 20 Event for September.
Harvest Square Arts & Crafts Festival & Halloween Happenings
The 33rd annual Harvest Square Arts and Crafts Festival, featuring many area artists and craftspeople. Exhibits will include painting, pottery, woodwork, metal, jewelry, glass, fabric, floral designs and much more.
This year's festival combines Halloween Happenings and Scarecrows on the Square into a day of family fun.
Halloween Happenings will feature games, activities and prizes for the entire family. The highlight will be the costume contest for children under 12 years old at 2 p.m. Winners usually wear creative homemade costumes. A pet costume contest will be held at 3 p.m. and is sponsored by Bear’s World, an educational organization promoting pet and child safety.
Scarecrows will be set up by schools, groups, and organizations the first week in October and will remain in the Square until November 1. Awards will be presented at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, October 17 before the Kid's Costume Contest.
The festival is free and free parking will be available in the Cobb County Parking Garage from the Waddell Street entrance.
Join Santa and Mrs. Claus for the kick-off to the holiday season Thursday, December 3. Festivities start at 5 p.m. in Glover Park in the Hstoric Marietta Square. Local school choruses will perform Christmas carols as children visit with Santa in the gazebo until 8 p.m. Santa will light the giant Christmas tree, donated by Big John's Christmas Trees, at 6 p.m.
Celebrate the 23rd annual award winning home tour. Glimpse into six private Marietta homes located in the Church/Cherokee Street Historic District lovingly restored and decorated for the season.
