MARIETTA, Ga. (April 24, 2018)—Marietta Visitors Bureau Welcome Center Manager, Wesleigh Reaves, received her Georgia Certified Travel Counselor certificate at the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s (GDEcD) Regional Visitor Information Centers (RVIC) annual conference in Statesboro, Georgia. Deputy Commissioner for Tourism, Kevin Langston was in attendance among other representatives from the GDEcD team and tourism partners from all over the state.

Certified professional travel counselors play a vital role in creating a positive image for their region and the state of Georgia. They create a greater appreciation for Georgia’s tourism industry and contribute to the economic well-being of the state.

“Tourism is such an exciting and impactful industry,” said Wesleigh. “I value our relationship with GDEcD and am so thankful for opportunities to further my tourism knowledge.

Georgia’s certification test has been endorsed by the National Council of State Tourism Directors as having met the nationally standardized guidelines for travel counselor certification testing.
